Pressline Entertainment LLC Presents:
"Visiting Cultural legends of The Past to Determine The Urban Development of the Future"
Black History Fundraiser 2010 for St. Andrews Park
Los Angeles, California February 2010- City of Los Angeles Department of Recreation and Park Pacific Region, South District in conjunction with Pressline Entertainment will host the "Invention to Innovation, See Yourself-See the Future" Black History Cultural Youth Experience 2010 at St. Andrews Park. The park is located at 8701 St. Andrews Place Los Angeles, Ca, 90047. This day of cultural enrichment will take place Saturday February, 27, 2010 from 1P.M.-4:30P.M.
Armed with a mission to empower today’s youth to build their future through design and critical thinking; Derek Haskell and his team at Pressline Entertainment seek to educate, motivate, and encourage today’s youth to engage self determination and entrepreneurship before they enter the "working world". Haskell and his team are seizing this opportunity to expose urban youth to occupations which are not often seen in their community by providing a chance for young people to meet and greet successful urban professionals from the public and private sectors.
The Day includes: Black Inventor and Youth Art show, Urban Business Panel and the Reveling of St. Andrews Park Green Garden. It is through interactive workshops, panels and guest speakers that the community's young people will in fact see themselves and their future in faces that reflect their own and mirror their current experience.
The Black History Cultural Youth Experience 2010 is another chapter in the effort to serve people locally and continue to remind the world that the ills caused by Katrina's devastation exceed yet simultaneously parallel the devastation that affects inner city communities across America. Nearly 5 years after the tragedy caused by Hurricane Katrina helping hands are still needed to collaborate with residents to rebuild one of America's most beloved cities.
Currently traveling between New Orleans and Los Angeles to produce Pressline’s 2010 reality T.V. show “OPERATION N.O.” Pressline's Founder Derek Haskell stretches himself pretty thin. "It has to be done. New Orleans can only be rebuilt through the involvement of the City's people and a focus on an education system that was failing their youth before Katrina", Derek explains.
Pressline Entertainment is a film and music production company that develops, consults and manages artists who use their art as a voice to bring about world wide exposure to projects that uplift underserved communities everywhere.
